The goal of the periodontal treatments and maintenance therapy is to keep it stable so it doesn’t get worse.

Periodontal Maintenance Therapy is available for patients who have a history of periodontal disease and need to be more vigilant in maintaining their oral hygiene. The current recommendations for patients with a history of periodontal disease is to be seen two, three, or four times per year for cleaning and evaluation, depending on the severity of the disease. 

Periodontal Disease Treatment with Deep Cleaning (Scaling and Root Planing) is also offered by our skilled Hygiene Team at Anderson Ferry Dental. This treatment is designed for patients who have active periodontal disease. It involves removing plaque and tartar from the teeth above and below the gumline, and smoothing the root surfaces of the teeth to reduce the risk of future inflammation and infection.
